Manager “close to agreeing” West Ham contract after Sullivan and Brady talks

da apostebet: West Ham are making serious contingency plans in the event they sack under-fire boss Graham Potter, which is looking like a serious possibility after the Hammers lost their fourth Premier League game of the season last Saturday.

da realbet: Potter watched on from the sidelines as West Ham tasted yet another home defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace, with Tyrick Mitchell’s sumptuous right-footed volley from inside the area putting even more pressure on the tactician.

After their 2-1 loss to Palace, Potter’s win percentage has dropped even further to a lowly 26.1 per cent, and only Avram Grant has recorded a worse number than the Englishman out of every Irons boss in Premier League history.

Grant’s West Ham were relegated in 2011, and you can make a case that Potter is in danger of suffering the same fate if results continue in this manner.

West Ham face Everton next, and it would be quite the irony if ex-boss David Moyes — who guided the club through their most successful period in decades before departing the London Stadium — was the man to help seal Potter’s fate.

Of the tacticians who could step into Potter’s shoes, many have been linked.

Slaven Bilic is reportedly admired by David Sullivan, according to Ben Jacobs, whilst it is believed that another former West Ham player, Gary O’Neil, is another favourite to take over from Potter (Miguel Delaney).

However, there is one man who looks like the standout candidate by far.

Nuno Espirito Santo guided Nottingham Forest back to Europe for the first time since 1995 last season, only for a public fallout with owner Evangelos Marinakis to ultimately cost the Portuguese his job — only months after he signed a new contract.

Nuno "close to agreeing" West Ham deal after Sullivan and Brady talks

As per club insider ExWHUemployee, via West Ham Way, Nuno has already held talks with both Sullivan and Karren Brady about joining West Ham.

While the 51-year-old would prefer a long-term contract, he is said to be considering their offer, and it would appear that Nuno is “close to agreeing” a deal to sign for West Ham — if Potter is indeed shown his P45.

Nuno kept Forest up in his first season and helped to significantly reduce their fragility from set pieces, which is something that West Ham have really struggled with so far this season.

His pragmatic style isn’t exactly the ‘West Ham way’, but he could be exactly what the east Londoners are crying out for right now.

The obvious draw for Sullivan and Brady is his availability as a free agent, so it appears as if this will be one to watch, even if Potter is expected to remain in his post for the time being.

Ex also said, while not confirmed, that West Ham could sack Potter after the Arsenal game — mainly to give Nuno or any new manager the best chance of a good start at home to Brentford after the international break.
